1. SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP)

The SHRM-CP designation is a professional level certification endorsed by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) that entails an exam and work experience. One more HRCI certification, the SPHR is a master’s degree-focused exam that requires four years of professional HR experience. It covers many of the same topics as its counterpart PHR but with an emphasis on strategy and policymaking. Candidates must pay $100 for the application fee and $395 to take this rigorous exam where they will need at least have a bachelor’s or high school diploma in order to be eligible.
5. Professional in Human Resources (PHR)
The PHR offered by the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) is for those responsible for human resources and program implementation while ensuring adherence to applicable US laws.
The three-hour PHR exam, available through Prometric, covers a variety of HR topics such as workforce planning and employment, employee and labor relations compensation and benefits. You must have at least one year of professional experience with an established degree like the master’s or bachelor’s to take this test but you can also take it with just four years in high school if that is your only opportunity for higher education. The single exam costs $395 plus a $100 application fee which will cover registration fees within 3 days after submitting payment information online (but not transcript requests).
The certification is valid for three years so make sure to plan accordingly.
6. Global Professional in Human Resources® (GPHR®)
For HR professionals who work outside the United States or work with international teams, getting a Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) certificate is essential. This designation will ensure they have access to all of their skills and knowledge needed for success as an employer-of-record globally.
