Indirect Tax Associate

- Contingent assignment via 3rd party agency, working onsite at Morgan Stanley with the possibility of conversion longer term
You will:
- Prepare Morgan Stanley’s Indirect tax returns in EMEA/APAC jurisdictions
- Perform various postings to the General Ledger, including irrecoverable VAT/GST expense, and prepare monthly balance sheet and expenses reconciliations.
- Improve the automation and standardization of various processes.
- Contribute to projects, support tax audits and work closely with key contacts across locations.
- Develop practical knowledge of the Firm’s business and understand how your role fits into it.
Qualifications
You have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or related field and min. 2 years of relevant work experience preferably in Finance/Tax function
- Sound numeric skills and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize workload and good attention to detail
- Good problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel.
- Fluency in English and good communications skills
Team Profile:
The Indirect Tax group provides Morgan Stanley with global in-house expertise, primarily in VAT/GST and US Non-Income Tax. The team in Budapest has recently increased its global footprint and become the central location of the global indirect tax coverage.
