The job in short

As Senior HR Operations Specialist you take pride in helping Backbase to be an environment full of happy and healthy employees. You will be part of the HR Operations EMEA team responsible for the administrative processes of the employee lifecycle of our Backbase employees in the Netherlands. You want to make a difference in the lives of people and you are driven to improve the employee experience by providing day-to-day HR operational support. 

In this role you support HR Operations with handling complex queries where you will support the team in handling matters that require liaising with other teams, external vendors, and/or implementing a new solution/process. You make sure our HR Operations processes run smoothly and to be a first or second point of contact (depending on the topic) for HR questions from employees based in the Netherlands. 

Besides providing HR operational support you will dedicate the majority of your time (70%) on Sickness Management. You will support our HRBP’s and People Managers with our sickness management tool, reporting, signaling actions, documentation filing and guiding all stakeholders involved in active sickness case management. This role is critical in driving a healthy and balanced workplace and having a central place for our People Team to coordinate all activities in this scope.

Meet the job

  • You are an expert knowledge of Dutch HR legislation and institutions and absence management;
  • You will proactively educate rest of HR teams on HR legislations, processes, institutions and change;
  • You  will develop HR policies or recommend policy changes as per business requirements;
  • You will apply compliance knowledge to protect the organization and our employees;
  • Ypu will oversee risk management issues, flag risks to the team lead;
  • You will report trends to senior leadership;
  • You will create and maintain internal documentation around leave processes and active cases;
  • You will lead HR Operations-related projects or improvement initiatives;
  • You will lead HR Operations standups when required and proactively manage ticket pipeline and incoming emails;
  • You will advise other HR team members (e.g. Payroll, HR Business Partners) on issues to communicate with the business.

How about you

  • You have 5+ years of experience in HR Operations;
  • You have a Master or Bachelor Degree in HR or related field or relevant work experience;
  • You are  Dutch native  and fluent communication in English, written and spoken;
  • You have experience with Sickness Management/ARBO;
  • You have a strong knowledge of Dutch labor law and legislation
