QUANTITY SURVEYOR/ESTIMATOR SMP (Structural, Mechanical, Piping)

The main duties of this position are:
- Coordination and facilitation of material take offs across Structural, Mechanical and Piping commodities with the assistance of the Group QS team.
- Identification and management of ongoing design changes outside of the contract re-measurement process with the assistance of the Project Engineering team.
- Management of Pick-List process (i.e. new Pricing Schedule rates) and co-ordination of associated tasks.
- Assisting the project Commercial team with head contract compliance to ensure that notices and claims are communicated within specified timeframes.
- Drive the successful closeout of project variation and re-measurement claims.
- Ensure that systems and processes are implemented to manage and control the recovery of variations and Contract adjustments throughout the course of the project.
- Perform and collate detail weld tracing for QC team as well as Commercial Claims.
- Prepare estimates for Tenders or Variations based on manhour norms and supply pricing provided from Project management utilizing standard estimating spreadsheets.
- Perform and collate material take-offs and weld lengths into clear, well-structured spreadsheets or databases.
- Prepare comparisons between contract and as-built structures for possible commercial claims.
- Identify changes in IFC drawings to Contract drawings and prepare cost estimates for the changes.
- Ensure accuracy of completed works at all times
- Provide Client with the highest standard and quality of information
- Sets as good example and drives compliance with Company Policies and Procedures
- Facilitates adhoc tasks as required by the business.
The successful candidate should have/be:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying Construction Management, Professional license is a plus
- Experience in overseas projects, particularly Mining and Oil/Gas Projects is required
- At least 5 years’ work experience in estimating on structural construction projects required
- Experience in small to large scale projects
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
- Strong, clear and effective English communication skills
- Must be computer savvy with knowledge of Microsoft office tools and modelling softwares, knowledge in Navis software is a must
- High attention to detail

- Familiarity with Weld Mapping, Weld Joints, Elements of Piping
- Willing to render Overtime work based on workload and business contingencies
