Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for the facilitation of training to all employees of the Member Engagement and Clinical Review Departments at the Manila Operations Center. The incumbent will also provide support to stakeholders, employees, and the company in the delivery of its key objectives and will be involved in a variety of projects based on the operational and development needs of teams and individuals. He/She will be working closely with the Sr. Training and Development Manager in designing and conducting training programs that will boost employees’ workplace performance.

The Learning & Development Specialist directly reports to the Sr. Training & Development Manager. He/She will also be part of the Government Services team and will consult with the entire Clinical Review Operations and Human Resources team in the assessment of training needs as well as the planning, execution, and evaluation of all training-related activities.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other work-related duties may be assigned.

  • Assists in developing training curriculums and implementing training-related processes;
  • Develops training materials and facilitates training sessions;
  • Analyzes learning and performance trends and develops an action plan to address learning gaps and improve delivery of training;
  • Provides additional coaching as needed for employees and responds to any clinical related questions from employees and any client questions or concerns regarding clinical abstraction/coding;
  • Remains current on medical coding and billing guidelines and auditing protocols;

Abides by the Standards of Ethical Coding as set forth by the American Health Information Management Association and adheres to official coding guidelines;

  • Participates in testing and training as required by the Company;
  • Participates in the New Hire Orientation for new employees;
  • Provides assistance to the Authorized Response Team (ART) as needed;
  • Performs data entry of charts (coding and/or abstraction) as required by the business;
  • Performs miscellaneous job duties as assigned;
  • Travel may be required for training based on project to project need

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1.    Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Designer, Education, Communication, Organizational Development, or other related field that focuses on learning preferred

2.    Experience

  • Demonstrated research and analysis skills 
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workflow and effectively change priorities and direction
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, to include presentation/platform skills and solid facilitation skills
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Relevant subject matter expertise
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite products
  • Proficient in other technical skills: Web conferencing, Conference Calls, and other training mediums
