Job DescriptionPosition Summary:Thermo Fisher Scientific established a Global Business Services (GBS) organization to provide consistent, exceptional service to its businesses. The GBS Project Management Specialist, will lead the execution of the program management and ensure that critical activities get the right focus. They will be responsible for managing the program activities and tracking critical program milestones. The GBS Transition Support Specialist is a critical role for ensuring smooth program execution. Key Responsibilities:Liaise with key program stakeholders and ensure the program implementation across workstreams and business groupsTrack & review the status of the program against the implementation plan Manage weekly and monthly reporting cadence and ad-hoc reports including exec level reports & presentationsClosely review the follow up process related to any open risks, issues, actions, and decisions own the escalate process in case if critical issues and drive to find mitigation strategiesSupport completion of project plans and PM Milestone deliverablesCoordinate key process mapping workshopsManage information collection during site visits, or remotelySupport the development of the Learning/Training Needs Documentation, development of SOPs and WINsManage Knowledge Transfer requirements for new hires in the GBS centers, including development of Knowledge Transfer sessions calendar & coordination of resources requiredConduct periodic project plan assessments and manage preparation of regular program working sessions including milestone reviews to ensure readiness and quality of the projectsGathering project information and ensure clear communication of the outcome of the meeting (risks, issues, actions, and decisions)Education and Experience: Bachelors degree required Project Management/Sigma/Kaizen certification desirableFive years project/transition management experience (or three years with advanced degree)Experience in Finance and or Customer Care Transitions is preferredGBS/SSC experience is a plusSystems implementation is a plusKnowledge, Skills, Abilities: Fluency in English (verbal and written)Project management skills and capabilities (planning tools, defining deliverables, business case and baseline development)Experience in successfully leading project deliverables and working on big projects Ability to work independently, within a team, and collaboratively across teamsCapable of handling multiple projects and deadlines simultaneouslyExcellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills across all levels of the organizationProven track record of following through on commitmentsGood planning, organizational, and time management skillsTeam Player, able to work effectively with othersAbility to deal with highly sensitive information in line with confidentiality expectationsGood MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skillsThermo Fisher Scientific is an EEO/Affirmative Action Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, disability or any other legally protected status.
