Job Description


The main objective of this role is to support on developing innovative and realistic logistics solutions that meet the customer’s requirements in terms of cost and performance. The Solution Design Personnel will need agility as they need to anticipate and translate customer needs into operational processes, offering perfect quality of service in alignment to DB Schenker’s standards.

The role is responsible for handling components of the solution design work stream including but not limited to requirements analysis, detailed design inclusive of processes and productivity development, resource calculation, warehouse layout design and to prepare detailed solution content of customer proposals in support of customer opportunity management.

Job Level: Lead (Independent Contributor) – no direct reports


Solution Design Responsibilities 

  • Work with internal teams to design Standard Warehouse Solutions aligned to our Core Contract Logistics Products and solution templates inclusive of the careful application of technology and specific innovation tailored to the customers’ needs.
  • Understand, interpret, and map out customer operation workflow with the information obtained from the RFx package, customer meeting and/or site visits. 
  • Identify potential areas for optimization in customer operation workflow and propose improvements.
  • Analyze customer’s data in the RFQ/RFP package to recommend suitable storage system(s), complimenting material handling equipment and manpower resources with the right manning level.
  • Support to identify suitable warehouse facility and/or locations based on customer business requirements.
  • Propose and design warehouse internal layout(s) with AutoCAD/SketchUp software. 

Solution Design tasks & deliverables:

  • RFP Unpack and provide Solution Design Risk Assessment
  • Provide Concept of Solution including but limited to Supply Chain map, detail the customer requirements with volumes highlights and process flows, technology checks
  • Determine facility and storage systems
  • Detailed Simulation Development: Material Flow, Volume Analysis & Process Mapping, productivity determination
  • Resource Modelling 
  • Layout Design and Visualization – 2D and/or 3D layout design
  • Frame and list out the solution assumptions
  • Provision of Solution content document in required format(s)

Standardization, Coaching & Training

  • Ensure COMPLIANCE to Schenker – Contract Logistics Delivery Model (CLDM) pertaining to Solution Design Steps and guidelines within ONE SD


  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Management, or relevant technical field
  • Experience in modern warehouse and supply chain solution design including automation and other modern warehousing innovations (robotics, digitalization).
  • Experience in VSM and/or Six Sigma is a plus
  • 2+ years of relevant working experience of solution design in the logistics and supply chain industry; knowledge in 3PL is a plus 
  • Preferred Industry experience in <Consumer, Retail including Ecommerce and Electronics>, similar experiences in 3PL environment is a plus
  • Practical working experience with AutoCAD/SketchUp and/or other supply chain design software/tools is a plus
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP Function, Pivot Table)
  • Solid analytical skills with good commercial and technical understanding of Contract Logistics.
  • Structured project approach and ability to deliver results on time, on budget, and to the excellent standards.
  • Good knowledge in warehouse solution design; able to develop operationally feasible solution(s) to meet customer requirements.
  • Good command in spoken and written English; another Asian/European language (s) is beneficial.
  • Good organization skills
  • Self-starter with positive attitude to overcome problems effectively and able to work under own initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Highly responsible, initiative, proactive, and able to coordinate and motivate people and to work as a team under time pressure

Onsite work: CyberSigma McKinley West Taguig | BGC Corporate Center Taguig

Shift: 9AM – 6PM

Working days: Monday – Friday
