About the Role
We’re looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with strong experience in QuickBooks and a deep understanding of UK tax laws , including VAT, CIS, PAYE, and other HMRC requirements .
The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and capable of managing financial records with precision and compliance. This position starts as part-time, with the possibility of transitioning to full-time based on performance and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using QuickBooks .
- Manage accounts payable and receivable , ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts regularly.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns , CIS statements , and PAYE reports in compliance with UK tax laws.
- Support payroll processing and ensure all employee payments and deductions are accurate.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports as needed.
- Assist with end-of-year financials and liaise with accountants or auditors when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all HMRC deadlines and regulations.
- Provide clear communication and financial insights to management.
Requirements
- Proven bookkeeping experience with a strong focus on UK accounting practices .
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online or Desktop).
- Solid understanding of UK VAT, CIS, PAYE, and HMRC compliance .
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Part-time availability with flexibility to transition into full-time.
