About the Role

We’re looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with strong experience in QuickBooks and a deep understanding of UK tax laws , including VAT, CIS, PAYE, and other HMRC requirements .

The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and capable of managing financial records with precision and compliance. This position starts as part-time, with the possibility of transitioning to full-time based on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using QuickBooks .
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable , ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts regularly.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns , CIS statements , and PAYE reports in compliance with UK tax laws.
  • Support payroll processing and ensure all employee payments and deductions are accurate.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports as needed.
  • Assist with end-of-year financials and liaise with accountants or auditors when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all HMRC deadlines and regulations.
  • Provide clear communication and financial insights to management.

Requirements

  • Proven bookkeeping experience with a strong focus on UK accounting practices .
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online or Desktop).
  • Solid understanding of UK VAT, CIS, PAYE, and HMRC compliance .
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Part-time availability with flexibility to transition into full-time.
