About The Role

Salary: $6–$7 per hour (depending on experience)
Work Schedule
- Monday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EDT (2-hour lunch break)
- Tuesday: Off
- Wednesday & Thursday: 2:30 PM – 7:30 PM EDT (No lunch break)
- Friday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM EDT (1 hour lunch break)
- Two (2) Saturdays per month: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM EDT (1 hour lunch break)
About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Dental Billing Specialist who can confidently manage the full dental billing cycle from start to finish, while also supporting front desk and administrative tasks.
This is NOT a sales role. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines consistently.
The candidate must have strong communication skills, be comfortable discussing finances with patients, and have hands-on experience using Dentrix and dental insurance workflows.
Scope of Work / Responsibilities
Primary Focus: Full Dental Billing Cycle
- Insurance eligibility verification
- Insurance billing and claim submissions
- Insurance follow-ups and appeals
- Insurance aging and resolution
- Accounts Receivable (AR) management and aging reports
- Patient balance reporting
- Ensuring clean claims and timely reimbursements
Patient Financial & Collections
- Copay collection and overdue balance follow-ups
- Confidently discussing financial responsibilities with patients
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date billing records
Scheduling & Reactivation
- Scheduling appointments for overdue hygiene patients
- Patient reactivation and follow-up calls
- Appointment coordination and confirmations
Front Desk & Administrative Support
- Answering calls and managing communication via Weave
- Virtual receptionist duties
- Managing patient records and administrative workflows
- Supporting daily front office operations
Requirements
Deal Breakers (Non-Negotiable)
- Strong dental billing experience (full-cycle)
- Hands-on experience with Dentrix (required)
- Experience with: Insurance verification, Claims submission and appeals, & AR management and insurance follow-ups
- Confident in discussing payments and balances with patients
- Strong communication and multitasking skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven
Experience Requirements
- Dental industry experience is required
- Strong understanding of dental billing, coding, and insurance workflows
- Experience handling AR, aging reports, and collections
- Previous remote/VA experience is a plus
Basic requirements
- Must be proficient in speaking and writing English very clearly
- Must have relevant work experience
- Be able to submit an NBI clearance and/or Local Police Clearance background check before onboarding [mandatory]
- Must be available for video meetings with your camera on (when needed)
Technical requirements
- Device: Reliable laptop or desktop computer.
- Internet: High-speed connection (minimum 10 Mbps).
- Audio: Noise-canceling headset.
- Video: Webcam for virtual meetings.
