About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Accountant to support day-to-day finance operations with a strong focus on ERP-driven processes, compliance, and transactional accounting .
This is a highly operational role where you will manage core accounting tasks across AP, AR, bank reconciliations, payroll, and tax support , while working extensively within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central .
You’ll be joining at a key stage of growth as the company transitions and centralizes its back-office operations. This role offers strong long-term career progression , with opportunities to grow as the finance team expands.
Key Responsibilities
Core Accounting Operations
- Manage end-to-end accounting processes including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll support
- Perform daily transaction postings and reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records
- Support the month-end closing process , including journals, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
ERP & Process Management
- Work extensively in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central for all accounting workflows
- Execute manual postings, reconciliations, and reporting within the ERP
- Support process improvements and system optimization, leveraging ERP capabilities
Tax & Compliance Support
- Assist in the preparation of BAS and GST workings , ensuring compliance with Australian regulations
- Prepare supporting schedules and ensure accuracy of financial data for review and lodgment
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams (sales, operations) to track orders, collections, and financial activity
- Participate in regular alignment meetings and provide daily updates on task progress and priorities
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have Experience
- Proven experience in end-to-end accounting operations (AP, AR, reconciliations, payroll)
- Hands-on experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (highly preferred)
- Strong understanding of ERP systems in general (Oracle, NetSuite, MYOB, SAP, etc. also considered)
- Solid knowledge of accounting fundamentals and financial processes
- Exposure to Australian taxation (BAS, GST) or strong willingness to learn
Skills & Competencies
- Strong data accuracy and attention to detail , especially in high-volume environments
- Comfortable working across multiple systems and tools (5–6 platforms)
- Good working knowledge of Excel (formulas, data analysis, reporting)
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage stakeholder expectations
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, operational environment
