About the role
As an Assessor, you will evaluate student assessments, provide constructive feedback, support learner success, and contribute to quality and compliance processes within a leading Australian education provider.
You will leverage your real-world accounting and bookkeeping experience to assess students undertaking accounting and bookkeeping qualifications, ensuring they meet industry and training standards.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assess and mark student assignments and practical assessments.
- Provide clear, timely, and constructive feedback to support student learning.
- Respond to student queries relating to accounting, bookkeeping, and course content.
- Participate in assessment validation and quality assurance activities.
- Maintain accurate student records and assessment outcomes.
- Collaborate with academic and student support teams to ensure positive learner outcomes.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of assessment and learning resources.
- Support RTO compliance requirements, including validation and assessment mapping.
Certifications/Diploma
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy is required
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Additional qualifications in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, or Education will be highly regarded
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on accounting, bookkeeping, or finance experience preferably working with an Australian business, accounting firm, bookkeeping practice, or finance team .
- Strong practical understanding of Australian accounting and bookkeeping processes.
- Experience using Xero and/or MYOB .
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting principles, financial reporting, payroll, and bookkeeping practices.
- Excellent written English and professional communication skills.
Highly Desirable
- Previous experience in vocational education, training, or assessment.
- Experience within an RTO environment.
- Knowledge of validation, assessment mapping, and compliance activities.
