Senior Database Specialist - APAC DBA Operations

You will join the APAC DBA Operations Team , part of Avaloq's global Data Platform organization. The team is responsible for the reliability, security, performance, and operational excellence of mission-critical database platforms supporting Avaloq banking services across the APAC region. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Administer and support enterprise database platforms across production and non-production environments. 
• Execute database installations, upgrades, migrations, patching, cloning and lifecycle activities. 
• Ensure database availability, performance, security, and resilience. 
• Perform backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity activities. 
• Troubleshoot complex databases, infrastructure, and cloud-related issues. 

Oracle Technologies 

• Oracle Database 19c / 23ai 
• Oracle RAC 
• Oracle Data Guard 
• Oracle ASM 
• Oracle RMAN 
• Oracle GoldenGate 
• Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 
• Oracle Exadata 
• Oracle Linux 

Cloud Platforms 

• OCI Base DB Service, Exadata Cloud Service, Autonomous Database 
• AWS RDS for Oracle and PostgreSQL 
• Amazon Aurora 
• Cloud monitoring, backup and disaster recovery services 
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years as Oracle DBA, Database Specialist or Database Engineer. 
• Strong expertise in RAC, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, GoldenGate and Exadata. 
• Experience supporting OCI and AWS database workloads. 
• Strong Linux/Unix administration skills. 
• Experience with mission-critical environments and strict SLA requirements. 

Preferred Experience 

• Avaloq Core Banking platforms 
• Banking or Financial Services industry 
• PostgreSQL administration 
• ITIL-based operations
