About the Role The Senior Manager, Compliance Monitoring position holder is responsible for leading the Compliance Monitoring team in monitoring customer transactions in order to detect and prevent money laundering and terrorist financing. The work involves using internal and external tools/systems to detect suspicious activity from customer transactions that need further investigation. After detection, the Compliance Monitoring team follows its investigation process which includes reviewing the customer’s KYC profile, transaction history, submitted documents, other relevant information, and the results from the Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) interview. Other work includes managing the relevant vendors, implementing regulatory requirements such as the Travel Rule, working with Tech and Product to design/develop/improve internal systems and databases needed for the work, and completing process improvements/projects. The Senior Manager is the central person in charge of ensuring that all the team’s SLAs are met and all the team members have the required skills, attitude, learning, and development to excel in their roles. General Responsibilities ● Understand PDAX and its industry, business, operations, organization structure, products & services, and compliance processes & systems. ● Master the regulations relevant to the team’s work (e.g. AML, CTF, etc.). ● Lead the team to be high-performing as evidenced by meeting all SLAs. ● Design the team’s processes to maximize productivity as measured by processing time, quality, error rates, and cost. ● Systematically identify and implement the most value-adding improvements on existing and new processes. ● Be the foremost expert and “product owner” of all the internal and external tools and systems used by the team (e.g. TRM Labs, Notabene, CLFG, etc.). ● Manage internal and external stakeholders including management reporting. ● Complete special projects/work as assigned by senior management. Qualifications A proven track record in operations, compliance, or risk management. People leadership, performance management, coaching & mentoring. Knowledge of pertinent regulations, compliance, and risk management practices. Big-picture thinking, problem-solving, creativity, learning agility. Attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and time management skills. Strong project and change management skills including stakeholder management. Effective communicator (oral and written), influencing skills. Proficiency with data aggregation and analysis using various tools. Demonstrates accountability, a passion to perform, and determination in achieving the team’s goals. Nice-to-Haves Willingness to work in a startup environment – we need someone with an appetite for building. Experience in digital asset or financial services industries particularly in payments, remittance, e-banking, and cash management. Enthusiasm for trading stocks, forex, cryptocurrencies, or NFTs.
