As a Philippine-based US Accountant with real estate expertise, you’ll support fast-growing US companies, brokerages, and CPA firms—turning chaos into order, and numbers into clarity.This is a full-time independent contractor role. Exclusivity is required—no part-time or freelance engagements after hire.About the RoleYou see accounting as a system: inputs tidy, flows efficient, outputs decision-ready. You’ll manage end-to-end accounting operations for real estate clients—AP/AR, payroll, month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting. Along the way, you’ll standardize workflows, implement SOPs, and help expedite client onboarding by resolving uncategorized transactions and reconciling HUDs, commissions, and balance sheets.What You’ll DoAccounting & Bookkeeping (Real Estate Focus)Manage end-to-end books for real estate clients, including brokerages, property management, and investors.Process HUD statements, commissions, and other real estate-specific transactions.Reconcile balance sheets, bank accounts, credit cards, and loan accounts.Categorize uncategorized transactions to ensure accurate ledgers.Prepare monthly financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash-flow reports, with variance analysis and plain-English <commentary.Support> client onboarding by quickly reviewing prior financials and ensuring structured bookkeeping processes.Client CollaborationJoin standing calls with real estate clients and US-based teams, translating complex financials into actionable guidance.Flag risks and opportunities proactively.Process Improvement & AutomationStandardize checklists, month-end close calendars, and SOPs.Recommend and implement automation tools or workflows to reduce manual effort and errors.Maintain organized, audit-ready files and documentation across periods and clients.Payroll & ComplianceProcess payroll accurately, including deductions, approvals, and on-time payment.Assist with tax and compliance preparation as needed.What You’ll BringBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.3+ years US accounting/bookkeeping experience, preferably with real estate clients.QuickBooks Online proficiency (required), with clean, documented workflows.Familiarity with Xero, <Bill.com>, or other AP/AR automation tools is a plus.Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills (lookups, pivots) and basic reporting/BI.Strong command of English (written & spoken), client-facing communication, and service orientation.Ownership mentality: organized, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple clients with accuracy.Time-zone alignment: Comfortable working US business hoursThe Ideal CandidateExperienced in closing books for US entities with minimal supervision.Balances precision with practicality—knows when to dive deep vs. act fast.Enjoys creating order: SOPs, templates, checklists, and clean reconciliations.Tech-curious and actively seeks ways to automate routine work.Builds trust with clients through consistent, transparent delivery and simple <explanations.HOW> WE WORKQuality: Close checklists, review notes, and documentation are part of every engagementSecurity: Best practices for data privacy, MFA, and least-privilege access — alwaysCollaboration: Slack/Zoom standups, shared task boards, and predictable review cycles WHY CAS IS DIFFERENTWe're not a gig platform.We're not a freelance marketplace.We're not a short-term staffing <agency.At> CAS, we invest in professionals who want to build long-term careers supporting U.S. accounting firms and businesses.
