POSITION : ​SENIOR INVESTMENT COUNSELOR REPORTS TO : INVESTMENT COUNSELORS TEAM HEAD DIRECTLY SUPERVISES : N/A UNIT / DEPARTMENT : DIVISION / GROUP : INVESTMENT COUNSELORS TEAM / FINANCIAL MARKETS SEGMENT JOB SUMMARY The Senior Investment Counselor assists Wealth Managers in covering clients on investment products to maximize revenues and to support overall sales and profitability targets. He/She provides market flavor and shares strategy with clients and Wealth Managers on product selection and product diversification. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Business Acumen · Coordinates with the various product providers of the Bank to ensure that products are relevant to customers and competitive with other Banks · Explains and educates the wealth management team and clients the various features, benefits, and risks of the different investment products · Contributes to Investment Revenue · Grow investment product AUM within defined team Financial Markets Analysis · Discusses bank strategy with client geared towards customer engagement & asset allocation, and sales conversion · Assists the Wealth Managers in crafting and preparing sales pitches for specific customers based on long-term goals and objectives and customer risk profile to ensure that customers are guided in their portfolios. Needs Analysis and Solution Matching · Shares market trends, product knowledge, portfolio allocation and rebalancing ideas with Wealth Managers to be able to provide sound advice for customers. · Initiates and assists wealth managers in conducting financial needs analysis (FNA) with clients to assess client’s profile to determine the suitable product to match clients' needs and goals · Studies client investment portfolio and identifies opportunities for rebalancing, asset allocation, and expanding product selection according to the needs and goals of the client. · Supports Wealth Managers by conducting portfolio reviews at the allocated wealth centers. · Supports Wealth Managers in increasing investment AUM as % of total AUM and deepen allocated base It is accepted and understood that the employee may perform other related tasks which may be assigned from time to time. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Years of Related Experience: Minimum of 5 years Educational Attainment/ Required course (if applicable) : Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics/Statistics, Business Studies/Administration/Management, Economics, Finance/Accountancy/Banking, Computer Science, Engineering Required Certification/Professional License ( if applicable ): reasury Certification, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Certification, CUSP (Certified UITF Salesperson), Mutual Fund Certification and other Certifications and Licenses required to distribute covered products preferred Field of Specialization ( if applicable ):Banking and Financial, Corporate Finance/Investment, Sales-Corporate, Sales-Retail Knowledge and Skill Requirements: · Understanding of Financial Markets - rates & credit markets, macro-economics. Portfolio Management and Financial Planning · Ability to effectively articulate strategies and ideas to Wealth Relationship Managers (RMs) and to clients in a clear and concise manner. · Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the Bank including external parties and customers. · Knowledge of the bank’s investment products and services. · Understanding of the inter-dependent relationship with the different product providers, Branch Banking Group, and Wealth Management Group · Must be able to pass the required certifications / licenses to perform sales functions. · Must be proactive and a fast learner. · Able to prepare and provide reports in a timely manner. · Ability to help the unit attain income & volume targets. · Develops good relationships with branch sales partners and Wealth Managers · Good communication & presentation skills
