Plastics Technician Die Setter/Fitter – Blowmoulding

About The Role
The Plastics Technician Die Setter–Blowmoulding ensures smooth manufacturing operations by performing equipment changes, maintaining quality and safety standards, optimising processes, training staff, and adhering to environmental and company policies.
Your key responsibilities will be to
- Perform die and mould changeovers, set up and optimise blowmoulding machines, and adjust process parameters to maximise machine uptime, efficiency, and production output.
- Monitor production quality through start-up checks and ongoing inspections, making process adjustments as required to ensure products consistently meet specifications.
- Troubleshoot machinery, tooling, and process issues, while carrying out routine preventative maintenance activities to minimise downtime and maintain reliable equipment performance.
- Optimise material usage, cycle times, and manufacturing processes to reduce waste, improve productivity, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate production documentation, including process setting sheets, quality checks, equipment adjustments, and production records.
- Support a safe, compliant, and high-performing workplace by training operators, promoting safe work practices, maintaining housekeeping standards, and collaborating with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and technical teams.

Qualifications and Skills
- At least 3 years' experience as a Plastics Technician, Die Setter, or similar role within a Blowmoulding manufacturing environment.
- A relevant trade qualification (desirable but not essential).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capability.
- Knowledge of quality assurance systems and manufacturing processes.
- Experience operating and setting Blow moulding machinery.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Christchurch site
- This is a permanent full-time role.  Days of work required: Monday to Friday: 40 hours per week - 7.30am to 4.00pm
- The base hourly rate for this role is between $35.00 to $43.00 per hour – depending on experience. (1.5 X O/T)
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.
