Job Summary
Under physician supervision performs non-invasive diagnostic imaging of the cardiac anatomy and function.
Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares patients and diagnostic equipment for imaging procedures.
- Performs Echocardiographs per appropriate ECHO orders.
- Assists physicians interpret the data from images and determines which images should be utilized.
- Disperses completed ECHO reports to physicians.
- Documents procedures in EMR.
- Maintains ECHO activity log.
- Quality of ECHO studies.
- Other related assigned duties.
Education, Licensure/Certification, and Training
- Completion of diagnostic medical sonography from an (ARDMS) accredited program.
- Certified as an ECHO technician required.
- BLS or ACLS Certification required.
- Preferred 1-2 years of experience in ECHO technician role.
Skills and Abilities Required
- Attention to detail is a must, including identification of the patient, identification of the images and record keeping.
- Ability to work independently with little direction.
- Ability to stand for long period of times.
- Ability to follow written protocols.
- Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain productive working relationships with physicians, patients and their families, and other people both inside and outside assigned clinical area.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with exercise and pharmacologic stress testing , strain imaging and 3D imaging preferable

- Compliance with Department Health and Safety policies and procedures
Working Conditions/Schedules
- 40 hour work week, hours and days to be determined by the business needs of the department. Additional hours may be required
