- Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Central Time (CST)
- Salary: $6–$7 per hour

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Medical Virtual Assistant to provide remote administrative support to a personalized allergy and asthma care practice in Dallas, Texas .
This full-time role will focus on prior authorizations, billing and collections, and front office support . Other responsibilities include insurance verification, patient communication, records management, appointment reminders, patient outreach, and general administrative tasks.
We are looking for someone with hands-on medical administrative experience who can communicate professionally with patients and work independently with minimal supervision.
Scope of Work & Responsibilities
Your three primary areas of responsibility will be
- Prior Authorizations
- Process prior authorization requests accurately and efficiently.
- Follow up on submitted requests and monitor authorization status.
- Coordinate authorization-related information as needed to help support timely patient care.
- Billing & Collections Support
- Handle billing and collections support, including following up with patients on outstanding balances and collecting payments.
- Maintain accurate and organized information related to billing follow-ups.
- Front Office Support
- Schedule and reschedule patient appointments
- Answer inbound calls and respond professionally to patient inquiries.
- Provide clear and courteous patient support by phone and email.
Additional responsibilities include
- Perform insurance verification and eligibility checks.
- Organize, manage, and send patient records as needed.
- Make outbound appointment reminder calls.
- Conduct patient reactivation and follow-up outreach.
- Manage email and calendar responsibilities for the client
- Provide general administrative support.
- Take on additional administrative responsibilities as the practice's needs evolve.
Requirements
Candidates should meet the following qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience with prior authorizations and insurance verification.
- Experience with billing and collections.
- Healthcare administrative experience; allergy/asthma practice experience is a plus.
- Experience with Meditab or a similar EHR system.
- Experience using CoverMyMeds and Availity is a plus
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
- Professional, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Reliable, proactive, and adaptable.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Basic Requirements
- Must speak and write English clearly and professionally.
- Must have relevant work experience.
- Must be able to provide an NBI Clearance and/or Local Police Clearance before onboarding (mandatory).
- Must be available to attend video meetings with camera on when required.
Technical Requirements
- Computer: Reliable laptop or desktop computer.
- Internet: Stable high-speed internet connection (minimum 25 Mbps).
- Audio: Noise-canceling headset.
- Video: Working webcam for virtual meetings.
