Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of pipefitters, ensuring work is performed according to project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Plan and coordinate daily work activities, including resource allocation, task assignments, and progress monitoring to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and procedures, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections to maintain a safe work environment.
- Inspect work for quality and compliance with industry standards and project specifications, making necessary adjustments and corrections as needed.
- Identify and resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise during the course of the project, providing practical solutions to maintain project timelines.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with project managers, engineers, other foremen, and team members to ensure smooth project execution.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of work performed, including daily logs, progress reports, and material usage.
- Mentor and train team members, promoting skill development and adherence to best practices within the pipefitting trade.
Education Requirements/Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a pipefitter, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training in pipefitting preferred.
- Relevant certifications in pipefitting and safety (e.g., OSHA) are highly desirable.
Job Requirements/Special Skills
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of various pipefitting techniques and tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work in conditions of varying heat and cold where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels
