About The Role

Employed on a per-load-unit basis for a given semester or term. Sole contracted responsibilities are those activities required in the delivery of a course (e.g., mentoring/coaching, preparation, teaching, grading, office hours). In some instances, there may be some contracted responsibilities for advising, course development or meeting other departmental needs.

Our programs explicitly integrate Christian perspectives with disciplinary philosophical and ethical issues encountered while studying Psychology, Criminal Justice, and Sociology and Anthropology. We are committed to the integration of faith in the classroom, service to the community, as well as social science perspectives and research methods.

Faculty hold advanced degrees from quality universities and have extensive practical experience in research and social service programs and administration. Faculty represent diversity of age, perspective and experience. Innovative approaches to teaching and learning through use of technology and a wide range of classroom experiences.

Teach undergraduate classes on an as-needed basis. Create and maintain a course page in Canvas LMS structure; design and grade assessments of student learning; respond to students in a timely manner via weekly office hours and/or email.

Courses typically meet face to face for either and evening class once a week, 2.5-hours/week for 15 weeks either in three 50-minute lectures (MWF), or two 75-minute lectures. Scheduling may be adjustable, but typically occurs between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m, with evening classes typically between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

Responsibilities specific to the class taught will be communicated on an individual basis.

Professional expertise. Relevant doctorate is preferred but not required. Teaching experience preferred. Candidate should have a commitment to excellence in teaching in a Christian Liberal Arts setting.
