As new technologies evolve throughout the construction industry, innovative ideas are required to maintain and deliver successful construction projects.
What We're Looking For
Michael Baker is seeking a Construction Inspector to join the team in Philadelphia! The Inspector will perform oversight, monitoring, and inspection services on transit, infrastructure, road and bridge projects for clients throughout the Philadelphia Region as assigned. Between field assignments, this position may involve design tasks such as constructability reviews of plans for upcoming projects as well as assisting technical staff during plan preparation.
What You'll Do
- Assist with daily inspections of project construction activities, including roadways, earthwork, base, and asphalt placement, bridge, concrete, retaining walls, sidewalks, building construction, transit stations, etc.
- Support inspections of concrete installations such as barrier walls, bridge decks, sidewalks, building foundations, and other structural components.
- Help maintain accurate daily logs of construction activities and inspection results as well as work quantities for invoice tracking and quantity payments.
- Learn to interpret construction plans and specifications under the guidance of senior inspectors and construction managers.
- Collaborate with contractors and project teams to ensure quality and compliance and construction schedule.
What You Need to Succeed
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1+ years of construction or inspection experience
- Willingness to travel, work varied shifts/weekends, and in all weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass background check
Compensation
The approximate compensation range for this position is $22/hr to $35/hr. This compensation range is a good-faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
