About The Role
Your Role as an Allied Health Assistant
As an Allied Health Assistant at Hummingbird House, you will support the delivery of person-centred health and wellbeing programs by assisting Allied Health Clinicians with individual and group interventions, monitoring client progress, and contributing to positive outcomes as part of a multidisciplinary team.
This rewarding role provides the opportunity to support children with life-limiting conditions and their families, helping deliver compassionate, holistic care in a specialist paediatric palliative care environment.
Key responsibilities include
- Assisting Allied Health Clinicians in delivering individual and group therapy programs to support children and families receiving palliative care services.
- Preparing therapy sessions, resources and equipment, and provide supervision and support to participants during activities.
- Monitoring client progress and provide feedback to Allied Health Clinicians to support ongoing care planning.
- Delivering education, guidance and support to clients, families, carers and support workers under the direction of Allied Health Clinicians.
- Building positive, professional relationships with children, families and multidisciplinary team members to ensure a high standard of person-centred care.
- Maintaining accurate records, manage clinical resources and equipment, and support a safe, clean and welcoming therapy environment.
- Contributing to a collaborative multidisciplinary team while complying with quality, safety, infection control and workplace health requirements.

What We’re Looking For
- Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent), or a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar allied health support role.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, follow clinical direction, and manage competing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal, written communication and record-keeping skills, with experience maintaining accurate client documentation and data entry.
Essential Requirements
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy)
- Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.
- Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel for work
