About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Software Quality Assurance Engineer to help ensure the quality, reliability, performance, security, and usability of our web and mobile applications.
The role will cover manual testing, automated testing, performance and load testing, API and integration testing, database validation, and mobile application testing.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable investigating issues beyond the user interface and should be able to assess application logic, APIs, databases, system integrations, logs, and code changes. Experience with PHP and the ability to read and understand code are strongly preferred.
This position is well suited to someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, and confident in providing an independent assessment of software quality and release readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Review requirements, user stories, technical specifications, and acceptance criteria.
- Prepare and execute test plans, test cases, test scripts, and regression packs.
- Perform manual functional, regression, integration, system, exploratory, usability, and compatibility testing.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts for web, mobile, API, and regression testing.
- Perform performance, load, stress, endurance, scalability, and concurrency testing.
- Test mobile applications across Android and iOS devices, operating systems, and network conditions.
- Test REST APIs, web services, system integrations, and third-party platforms.
- Validate requests, responses, authentication, data formats, error handling, retries, and performance.
- Use Microsoft SQL Server to validate data, investigate defects, and confirm system behaviour.
- Write SQL queries to identify missing, duplicated, inconsistent, or incorrectly linked records.
- Read and understand PHP code to support defect investigation and root cause analysis.
- Review logs, stack traces, browser console errors, API responses, and database records.
- Record and manage defects with clear steps, evidence, severity, priority, ownership, and status.
- Retest fixes and perform regression testing before release.
- Support release planning, go-live validation, rollback testing, and post-release verification.
- Assist in investigating production incidents and recurring defects.
- Identify areas where manual testing can be automated.
- Maintain QA documentation, test evidence, defect trackers, and quality reports.
- Escalate critical defects, unresolved risks, and release-readiness concerns.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least three years of experience in software quality assurance or software testing.
- Strong experience in manual, automated, and performance testing.

- Practical experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Ability to write and execute SQL queries.
- Experience with API and integration testing.
- Experience using test and defect management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar platforms.

- Familiarity with PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter.
- Experience with Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, or similar automation tools.

- Knowledge of basic application security and access-control testing.
- Experience testing audio, transcription, document generation, workflow, AI-assisted, or file-processing applications.
- Experience in healthcare software, clinical systems, or other regulated and data-sensitive environments is an advantage.
- Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, or healthcare system integrations is desirable.

- Methodical and evidence-based approach to testing.
- Ability to investigate issues independently.
- Ability to assess both technical and business impact.
- Strong ownership and accountability.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Confidence in challenging incomplete requirements or insufficient testing.
- Ability to communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and defect prevention.
What We Are Looking For
