ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a hands-on finance role sitting within the Finance team of a fast-growing EdTech startup, working directly alongside senior leadership. You'll contribute across financial close, reporting, planning, and process automation — gaining real ownership and a front-row seat to building a modern finance function from the ground up.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes and coordinate with external auditors.
Contribute to accurate financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
Assist with operational controlling, including budget planning, forecasting, and liquidity tracking.
Build monthly reports, conduct ad hoc analyses, and translate data into clear, decision-ready insights.
Identify and implement opportunities to automate manual workflows using AI tools, low-code platforms, and smart integrations.
Prepare decision briefs and support cross-functional initiatives, keeping projects on track.
Coordinate with tax advisors, auditors, and legal providers, and collaborate with teams such as Growth and Engineering.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree programme in business, finance, economics, or a related field.
Professional working proficiency in both German and English, written and spoken.
Foundational knowledge of accounting principles sufficient to support financial close and reporting.
Strong Excel skills and experience analysing financial data to generate reports and inform decisions.
Experience supporting close processes (month-end, quarter-end, or year-end), audit coordination, or multi-jurisdiction reporting.
Experience with financial planning tasks such as budgeting, forecasting, or liquidity tracking.
Genuine interest in AI tools and automation; hands-on experience with low-code platforms or BI tools is a bonus.
Familiarity with German accounting standards (HGB) or IFRS is a plus.
Prior internship, coursework, or project experience in finance, accounting, controlling, or consulting is advantageous.
Proactive, self-driven, and pragmatic — comfortable taking ownership and working closely with leadership.
