About The Role
Works under general supervision to perform maintenance work on intercom locking control fire alarm system and closed-circuit TV systems install locks and detention hardware as well as closed circuit TV systems and troubleshooting electronic equipment.
Pay Grade: 51H
Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education
Minimum Qualifications
- Five (5) years of work experience in the electronics field; which consists of making extensive electronic repairs to a broad range of electronic apparatuses and
- Must have successfully completed course training in electronic locking systems; and
- High school diploma or possesses GED;
- PROOF OF EDUCATION; TRAINING; AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Installs, services, and repairs electronic locks.
- Services and repairs fire alarm systems.
- Installs; services and repairs intercom systems.
- Services and repairs locking control system graphics panels.
- Installs and repairs detention hardware.
- Installs services and repairs closed circuit TV equipment including cameras; controllers; DVR’s and cabling.
- Performs other related duties as required or directed.
KSAs
- Ability to apply knowledge of electricity and electronic theory and techniques in engineering functions; such as testing; installing; and maintaining electronics equipment.
- Knowledge of the capabilities; limitation; operations; characteristics and functions use of variety of types of models of electronic equipment and locking systems.
- Knowledge of security camera and recording systems with the ability to install cameras and recording equipment and make connections to county network.
- Ability to diagnose problems with cameras and related equipment.
- Ability to operate PC with working knowledge of Microsoft windows and moderate skills in use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Skill in use of appropriate tools and instruments.
- Ability to work with people.
- Ability to read and work with blueprints.
- Ability to estimate time; materials and costs on electronic projects and to track actual costs.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to climb and work at heights of 10-20 feet.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
- Physical ability to perform assigned work tasks.
Special Requirements
- Must be able to function in a prison environment.
- Must have a valid Tennessee driver’s License or secure one as of employment date.
- Must pass a physical examination.
- Must be willing to work every weekend shift and be on call as required.
- Must pass a drug test.
