About The Role
Join Heathrow as an IT Programme Lead in Strategy Execution, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the technology strategy that underpins the airport’s future. This role is central to ensuring that our IT capabilities evolve in line with business priorities, enabling Heathrow to deliver a world-class passenger experience and operational excellence.
As part of a collaborative and forward thinking team, you will drive alignment across IT functions, ensuring governance is robust, and deliver measurable progress against strategic goals. You’ll be instrumental in connecting strategy to execution, ensuring that every initiative contributes to Heathrow’s long term vision.
- Lead the execution and continuous evolution of the IT Strategy and IT Operating Model, ensuring alignment with business goals and priorities.
- Own the governance, delivery and ongoing evolution of Grow IT and associated capability improvement initiatives.
- Own and maintain the IT Capability Framework and IT Functional Plan, driving continuous improvement, capability development and alignment across IT priorities.
- Partner with senior IT leaders and Enterprise Architecture to translate strategic objectives into actionable plans, measurable outcomes and investment priorities.
- Create and maintain an integrated view of IT priorities, initiatives, dependencies, risks and key results across the function.
- Support Functional Assurance activities on behalf of IT leadership, helping assess affordability, deliverability, capacity, organisational readiness and delivery risks.
- Coordinate Strategic Business Planning activities across IT, ensuring alignment between departmental plans, strategic objectives, workforce planning, budget planning and transformation initiatives.
- Develop funding assessments and business cases for strategic investments whilst building strong stakeholder alignment across IT and the wider business.
- Proven experience in IT strategy execution or enterprise-level planning within a complex organisation.
- Strong governance and delivery management skills, with the ability to track and report on measurable outcomes.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across senior leadership levels.
- Analytical mindset with experience in assessing affordability, deliverability, and organisational readiness.
- Ability to manage cross-functional dependencies and integrate multiple planning inputs effectively.
- Coordinate inputs from ITLT to create a coherent view of IT priorities, activities and key results.
Ideal Skills
- Background in capability planning or strategic workforce planning.
- Experience in large-scale transformation or operating model implementation.
- Familiarity with IT assurance processes and risk management frameworks.
