Project Engineer - Wind Energy & Resources Assessment

About The Role
- Efficiently and timely execute quality energy advisory projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project scope and schedule. Coordinate work with other service areas and regions as needed.
- Employs in-depth specialized conceptual and practical expertise regarding wind energy & resources assessment, practice, and procedures relevant to projects.
- Ensure conformance to established company methods and procedures. Support methods and procedures development and communities of practice.
- Compile and complete Technical Advisory reports with support from greater engineering team. Summarize key results, conclusions and represent UL Solutions with the customers.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to ensure repeat business, and support business development staff in acquiring new customers. Promote and coordinate team leaders and staff to support customer relationships and business development.
- Manage projects as needed. Lead or support the preparation of proposals detailing scope of work, team, budget, and schedule for completion. Identify project risks, barriers, and issues and propose possible solutions and mitigation strategies. Ensure timely completion to quality standards.
- Manage project costs to budget and identify and exploit potential cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Coordinate with other services and regions on inter-departmental initiatives to include procedural development, protocol development, cross-training opportunities, and sharing of resources.
- Represent UL Renewables team at tradeshows, technical conferences and workshops, and business development meetings, as needed.
- Requires frequent travel to project sites, regional offices to support business development and to other regions and headquarters as needed (approx. 30% travel).
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
- You have an academic background in Wind Energy or Engineering field.
- You have gained at least 2+ years of experience as Energy Analyst for wind projects.
- You have worked with Windographer, Openwind or similar resources and energy assessment software.
- You have hands-on experience processing digital terrain data (elevation, land cover, canopy maps) with GIS tools such as QGIS, ArcGIS, Global Mapper and other relevant software.
- You have excellent interpersonal skills, enjoy and master working in a busy environment, and you are highly motivated.
- You are a quick learner and can quickly adopt new methodologies and procedures.
- You have good spoken and written English skills
