About The Role
The Opportunity
The Business Assistant provides high-level executive, administrative and strategic support to the SVP, Chief Actuary. This role requires an exceptionally organized, proactive and discreet professional who can manage complex schedules, coordinate cross-functional communications, and assist in the preparation of sensitive reports. The ideal candidate will act as a seamless extension of the SVP, Chief Actuary, anticipating needs, streamlining workflows, and ensuring the efficient operation of the Corporate Actuarial senior leadership team.
What to Expect
- Manage the SVP, Chief Actuary’s calendar, prioritizing urgent requests and aligning schedules with business priorities.
- Coordinate executive and departmental meetings, including agendas, materials, minutes, and action item tracking.
- Oversee inbox management, draft correspondence, and escalate urgent regulatory or financial matters as needed.
- Arrange travel, prepare and reconcile expense reports, and provide day-to-day administrative support.
- Prepare, edit, and format key documents, including Board materials, regulatory filings, reports, and presentations.
- Act as the primary liaison between the SVP, Chief Actuary, internal stakeholders, external partners, and regulatory bodies.
- Support reporting, project tracking, KPI monitoring, system access management, and onboarding/offboarding activities.
- Lead event coordination and champion technology adoption and process improvements to enhance team efficiency and collaboration.
What you Bring
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience supporting C-level or Senior Vice President executives, preferably within the insurance, financial services or corporate risk sectors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and executive calendar management tools. Familiarity with financial/actuarial terminology is a significant asset.
- Proven ability to handle highly sensitive financial, regulatory, and organizational data with integrity.
- Exceptional attention to detail, particularly when proofreading reports containing financial figures and data models.
- Ability to anticipate the SVP, Chief Actuary’s needs, identify potential scheduling or project conflicts, and resolve them independently.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with board members, executives, and external regulators.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills. You’re a superior planner, organizer and coordinator.
- Self-starter that works well independently with minimal direct supervision
Salary Range: $51,300-$94,400
