About The Role

The Postal Finance Clerk supports daily postal finance operations for ASAB, ADAB, Optional AUAB, and MSAB locations. This role processes and reconciles postal transactions using USPS POS/RSS or an equivalent postal financial system. The clerk maintains accurate financial records, safeguards accountable funds and stock, prepares required reports, and ensures compliance with USPS policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Various Locations: Ali Al Salem Air Base (ASAB), Kuwait; Al Dhafra Air Base (ADAB), United Arab Emirates; Muwaffaq Salti Air Base (MSAB), Jordan; optional placement at Al Udeid Air Base (AUAB), Qatar

  • Pay commensurate with experience.

Postal Finance Clerk Responsibilities Include

  • Process postal retail and financial transactions accurately using USPS POS/RSS or an equivalent postal financial system.
  • Reconcile daily financial activity, including cash, money orders, stamps, accountable paper, retail transactions, and other postal revenue.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports and supporting documentation.
  • Identify, research, and resolve discrepancies, shortages, overages, and transaction errors in a timely manner.
  • Maintain financial records in accordance with USPS requirements, contract requirements, and established internal controls.
  • Safeguard cash, stamps, money orders, accountable items, and other postal assets.
  • Support audits, inspections, inventory counts, and financial reviews by providing accurate records and documentation.
  • Coordinate with postal personnel, site leadership, and customers to resolve finance-related issues.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to postal operations, including filing, data entry, reporting, and records retention.
  • Follow all applicable security, privacy, safety, and ethical standards while handling postal and financial information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of postal finance operations at ASAB, ADAB, Optional AUAB, and MSAB.

Postal Finance Clerk Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen .
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience using USPS POS/RSS or an equivalent postal financial system.
  • Demonstrated experience processing, balancing, reconciling, and reporting financial transactions.
  • Working knowledge of postal financial procedures, accountable property controls, and cash-handling practices.
  • Ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Ability to meet all applicable access, security, background screening, and deployment requirements for the assigned work location.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting USPS operations in an overseas, remote, military, or contingency environment.
  • Experience supporting postal operations at ASAB, ADAB, AUAB, MSAB, or similar locations.
  • Experience with USPS financial reporting, audits, inspections, and accountable paper inventory.
  • Knowledge of USPS retail systems, postal regulations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Experience working with government contracts or Department of Defense customers.
  • Associate degree or higher in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
