VOLUNTEER BASKETBALL COACH
About the Position
Under the general supervision and guidance of the Recreation Coordinator, a Volunteer Basketball Coach will oversee a youth team participating in league play, which primarily takes place on weekday evenings and Saturdays. The coach will have a background in basketball. Girls Basketball season is October – December, and Boys Basketball season is January – March.
What You'll Do
- Communicate with parents in a professional and timely manner.
- Attend scheduled practices and games.
- Coach in a manner that supports the program’s focus on the recreation components of the sport, which include equal playing time for all players, basketball basics, and sportsmanship.
- Respect all facilities used for practices and games.
What We're Looking For
- Individuals who embrace the non-competitive nature of the program, willing to model to the players and parents a healthy desire for competition in sports at a recreational level.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Ability to complete concussion training.
