About The Role
Under the direction of the Senior Director of Federal Programs, Finance, and Compliance, this position provides financial oversight and support for school and district budgets by ensuring accurate reconciliation of accounts, monitoring budget activity, assisting school administrators with monthly financial reviews, and maintaining compliance with district financial procedures. This position works closely with school leaders and the finance department to promote fiscal accountability and efficient budget management. This is a Limited Position contingent upon funding availability.
●Reconcile student activity and nutrition revenue accounts and ensure transactions are accurate, complete, and compliant with district policies.
● Perform monthly reconciliation of clearing accounts and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.
● Assist school administrators with monthly budget reconciliations and financial reporting.
● Prepare and process budget revisions and transfers as needed.
● Oversee the timely closeout of purchase orders and travel authorizations to ensure expenditures are accurately recorded.
● Review financial transactions for compliance with district, state, federal, and grant requirements.
● Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and communicate corrective actions to appropriate personnel.
● Provide training and technical assistance regarding budget procedures and financial systems.
● Assist with year-end financial closeout activities and audit preparation.
● Collaborate with procurement, payroll, accounts payable, and other departments to ensure financial records remain accurate and complete.
● Recommend improvements to financial processes and internal controls to increase efficiency and accountability.
● Cross-train on the financial and administrative responsibilities performed in the Nutrition Program and provide backup coverage as needed.
● Maintain the confidentiality of student, family, employee, and financial information.
● Serve as a backup for designated nutrition financial and administrative operations to ensure continuity during absences, peak processing periods, and organizational transitions.
● Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field and three years of appropriate experience. Relevant experience may substitute for the required education.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with budget development, financial reporting, and account reconciliation.
- Proficiency with ERP/financial management systems (e.g., Oracle, Banner, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience working in a University or school district finance setting.
