About The Role

The Management Associate (EP) supports Con Edisons Transmission Planning team in implementing New York States clean energy agenda. This role focuses on assisting with system studies, technical analyses, and project evaluations to ensure reliable integration of renewable resources. The associate will work closely with engineers and stakeholders to contribute to transmission planning and system performance initiatives.

Core Responsibilities

  • Contribute to incorporating New York State clean energy requirements into Con Edisons Transmission Master Plan.
  • Support short- and long-term bulk electric system studies for renewable integration, including offshore wind, solar, and energy storage.
  • Assist in conducting thermal, voltage, short-circuit, and stability analyses to maintain system reliability.
  • Help develop transmission system modifications to accommodate new technologies.
  • Assist in analyzing reliability benefits of proposed projects.
  • Participate in interconnection studies for company-owned projects.
  • Engage in work groups with NYISO to support local and bulk transmission planning efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements, including NERC guidelines.

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering and 1 year of full-time work experience that includes cumulative work or equivalent internship/co-op experience or Six months of Con Edison co-op or internship experience.

Relevant Work Experience

  • Exposure to the design and /or operation of the electric power system, preferred.
  • Capability of using PSS/E, TARA, Aspen or equivalent power system simulation programs, preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Driver's License Required

Additional Physical Demands

  • The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
