About The Role

PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Safety Coordinator supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of safety and environmental programs to maintain compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. This position conducts inspections, training, and investigations to promote a safe and healthy workplace across the property. The Safety Coordinator reports to and works closely with the site Safety Manager.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports the development and administration of departmental policies and procedures (P&Ps).
  • Ensures safety P&Ps are being followed and that safety/environmental action items are complete.
  • Conducts safety/environmental inspections and audits.
  • Completes and forwards appropriate requisitions, reports, or recommendations to the Safety Manager.
  • Conducts and reviews incident investigations.
  • Handle and maintain confidential information.
  • Conducts safety meetings & safety/environmental training to increase proficiency in safe work practices and promote safety awareness while staying compliant with all applicable regulations.
  • Consults with and serves as liaison between property management, contractors, and employees to resolve related issues that arise in daily operations.
  • Supports the enforcement of all policies, fire and safety-related codes, and applicable State, County, and Federal laws and regulations.
  • Assists with the completion of corporate-wide projects and tasks.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate’s degree in related field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 – 2 years of related customer service experience in a similar position.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS

  • Able to obtain Gaming registration as required by jurisdiction.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge of fire and safety-related codes, State, County, and Federal laws and regulations including knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and NFPA regulations.
  • Ability to multitask several activities and duties in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both oral and written forms.
  • Must have keen observation and documentation ability.
  • Ability to facilitate and present safety training classes.
  • Ability to communicate safety concepts and procedures to various audiences using verbal, written, and multi-media techniques.
  • Must possess the ability to interact positively with employees and management to create a safety partnership and safe working environment.
