About The Role
Job Overview
This is an exciting job opportunity for anyone interested in pursuing a career in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or Business / Community Services. The Communications Intern will support the project team with the following responsibilities:
- Support communication and marketing projects by identifying audience needs, gathering information, and developing engaging content.
- Assist with the creation of written communication materials, including newsletters, email campaigns, articles, success stories, and other materials.
- Assist in creating and managing content for social media platforms to promote programs, events, and organizational initiatives.
- Support the development of visual communication materials using graphic design and multimedia tools.
- Assist with event promotion and communication efforts for workshops, training sessions, and community outreach activities.
- Help maintain consistent messaging across communication channels.
- Monitor and report on communication and social media engagement metrics.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or have completed a degree in Communications, English, Humanities, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Business or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of major social media platforms and best practices for content creation and engagement and/or willingness to learn
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage time efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and ask for assistance when needed.
- Ability to work collectively with a team to promote program goals and outcomes effectively.
Schedule
- Ability to work 10 to 20 hours per week. The team is willing to work with the student’s class schedule
- This internship is possible to be structured as a remote opportunity with weekly check-in times and occasional scheduled times to join the team in person a t LCCC in the DEC building (151 Innovation Drive, Elyria). The project team will work with the selected intern to explore transportation options as needed.
