Maintenance Tech – JLL
What this job involves
The position is critical to maintaining the operational integrity and safety of hospital facilities, where reliable building systems directly support patient care and health outcomes. You will perform a comprehensive range of routine servicing and repair operations to ensure hospital buildings, equipment, furnishings, fixtures, and grounds remain in proper working condition. This role requires versatility across electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, with a strong emphasis on HVAC maintenance to ensure optimal environmental conditions throughout the facility. Your work contributes directly to JLL's commitment to delivering safe, efficient, and reliable healthcare environments while supporting the Partners-in-Caring culture that defines our approach to healthcare facility management.
What your day-to-day will look like
- Perform urgent, corrective, routine, and requisitioned repairs of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems to maintain hospital operations and minimize downtime
- Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment and physical structures, maintaining detailed records to track maintenance activities and equipment performance
- Maintain and repair HVAC controls and associated equipment to maximize efficiency levels in all environmentally controlled areas critical to patient care
- Ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors by adhering to all JLL policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications
- Demonstrate commitment to the Partners-in-Caring process by integrating our culture in all internal and external customer interactions
- Adhere to time management, supply management, and productivity standards to deliver efficient and effective service
- Serve as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff while supporting department-based goals that contribute to organizational success
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two or more years of experience in general building maintenance functions with demonstrated competency across multiple trades
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions with strong attention to detail and safety protocols
- Demonstrated commitment to the Partners-in-Caring process and ability to integrate organizational culture in all customer interactions
- Ability to deliver on brand promises of "we advance health" through innovation, accountability, empowerment, collaboration, compassion, and results while ensuring quality
- Proven ability to perform electrical, mechanical, and plumbing repairs in a healthcare environment
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls, and maintenance requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in hospital or healthcare facility maintenance environments with understanding of infection control protocols
- Certification or training in HVAC systems, electrical work, or plumbing trades
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for work order tracking and preventative maintenance scheduling
- Commitment to individual professional growth through mandatory and continuing education and skills competency development
- Experience serving as a mentor or preceptor to junior maintenance staff
- Knowledge of healthcare facility codes, regulations, and compliance standards
Location: Onsite - Sugar Land, Texas
Salary: $18–$22 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
