Consultant /Specialist Gastrointestinal Surgeon

Talentspoc is actively seeking a skilled Consultant/Specialist Gastrointestinal Surgeon to become a vital member of our healthcare team. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in managing and performing surgical treatments for a wide array of gastrointestinal conditions. This role requires commitment to excellence in patient care, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and engagement in continuing medical education and research.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage patients presenting with gastrointestinal diseases requiring surgical intervention.
• Perform elective and emergency gastrointestinal surgeries, using both open and minimally invasive techniques.
• Provide comprehensive pre-operative evaluation and post-operative follow-up care.
• Collaborate with gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
• Educate patients and families about surgical procedures, risks, benefits, and recovery expectations.
• Participate in clinical audits, research activities, and quality improvement programs.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in compliance with healthcare standards.

Requirements

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Completed residency in General Surgery and specialized fellowship in Gastrointestinal Surgery.
• Valid medical license to practice surgery in the respective jurisdiction.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in gastrointestinal surgical practice.
• Expertise in advanced surgical techniques, including laparoscopic and minimally invasive procedures.
• Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and research.
• Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
