About The Role

The analyst is responsible for daily production support for the UCH Laboratory systems and implementation and support of designated Lab instrument interfaces and software applications in accordance with departmental standards and procedures. The analyst works with users to define system functionality, information flow, reports and data requirements, develops specifications and documents operational procedures, tests software, and coordinates software release procedures.

The Benefits Analyst will be responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and ongoing support of HRIS and Oracle Fusion applications. This role will facilitate system design and definition for existing and new functionality; serve as a subject matter expert and resource to UC Health departments, end users, and IT staff; and provide production support for assigned applications. Responsibilities include analyzing application data and database structures, defining and configuring system tables and parameters, developing complex functional and technical specifications, creating and testing complex scenarios, developing ad hoc reports and system code, maintaining system resource files, and supporting complex system upgrades. The analyst will document system requests, follow established change management procedures, audit application processes to ensure quality outcomes and software products, coordinate with vendors and consultants, and work with technical and programming teams to resolve system issues and implement enhancements. The role will also provide consultation and mentorship to less experienced staff and contribute to the development and maintenance of departmental policies and procedures.

The Benefits Analyst will also provide project leadership and coordination for complex HRIS initiatives key project resource as needed. Responsibilities include managing workload priorities; coordinating activities across IS&T and departmental teams; monitoring risks; and facilitating timely resolution of issues. The analyst will work closely with business sponsors, vendors, consultants, and end users to evaluate solutions, build consensus, coordinate meetings, and ensure successful implementation of system enhancements. This position will promote strong customer relationships through effective written and verbal communication, consultation, issue escalation, and a commitment to high client satisfaction while ensuring system solutions align with business needs, technical requirements, and organizational standards.

  • Minimum Required: Required: Bachelor’s degree in IS&T or related field**.
  • Two or more years experience with computer applications (programming or analysis) required.
  • **4 years equivalent experience can substitute for a Bachelor’s degree.

Special Qualifications

  • Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician (MT or MLT) is highly recommended and preferred. Medical lab experience is required.
  • LIS system analyst experience of 2 plus years is required.
  • Previous Allscripts Lab (Horizon) application experience is preferred.
  • Epic Orders or Beaker certification is a plus.
  • Ideal candidate would have experience in an automated Lab environment.
  • Crystal Report experience is desired.
  • Project Management concept knowledge is required.
  • Excellent communication skills – oral and written.
  • Strong system orientation and organizational skills.
