About The Role

In the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Pathology (MIP), the Business Operations Technician position provides customer service and business operations support for all MIP buildings across CSU Fort Collins campuses. This includes coordinating deliveries, room scheduling, facilities requests, financial document entry, etc. Due to the nature of the department’s work, this will be an in-person position located primarily in the Microbiology and Pathology Buildings. Effective communication skills are required to articulate administrative processes, policies, and practices to faculty, staff, students, and other customers.

Essential Job Duties

  • Provide frontline customer service and operational support for the Microbiology and Pathology Buildings. This includes coordinating deliveries, managing room scheduling, maintaining emergency plans, and supporting administrative functions for students, faculty, and visitors.
  • Enter travel documents, procurement card reallocations, and other transactional documents using CSU systems while ensuring compliance with university procurement and financial policies.
  • Coordinate travel operations as a travel arranger, including preparing authorizations, reimbursements, and advances; reviewing expenses for compliance; and serving as a subject matter expert on travel policies.
  • Assist with facilities and building operations as a proctor by coordinating maintenance, managing key access, monitoring safety concerns, conducting walkthroughs, and communicating with CSU Facilities and vendors.
  • Manage state vehicle operations and compliance, including maintenance scheduling, driver record tracking, and mileage reporting across multiple campus locations.
  • Provide cross-functional administrative support by collaborating with HR and finance teams, participating in training efforts, and ensuring continuity of operations across the administrative team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an institution of higher education at time of hire.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated experience with customer service.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills confirmed by review of application materials.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field at time of hire.
  • Experience at an institution of higher education.
  • Experience balancing varied job responsibilities.
  • Experience with CSU’s administrative systems such as Kuali and Workday.
  • Commitment to CSU’s Principles of Community.

Salary Range

$42,000-45,000
