Sunflower, a generation and transmission cooperative, is hiring for our System Operations Department in Garden City, KS . The System Operator Trainee opening is an opportunity to expand your knowledge about transmission infrastructure and systems. Our System Operations Department work together to achieve safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This is your chance to join that team! Learn to monitor, operate, and control Sunflower's transmission system.

Provide support to achieve the lowest cost, most reliable, and environmentally sound transmission and substation infrastructure.

Associate degree in applied science with an emphasis in electronics, electrical or related technology and three years utility experience, or equivalent combination or education and experience.
Able to think quickly, logically, and accurately in identifying and responding properly to normal, abnormal, and emergency situations, often under stressful conditions.
Working knowledge of algebra, geometry, basic principles of physics, and alternating current (ac) and direct current (dc) power concepts.
