How will I help?
As a Credit Analyst within the International Energy, Infrastructure & Resources (EIR) team, you will support a portfolio of corporate and institutional clients across the UK, Europe and North America.
Working alongside experienced Relationship Managers and senior credit analysts, you will contribute to the growth and management of the offshore EIR portfolio through high-quality credit analysis, industry research and transaction support. Your insights will help differentiate our client offering, support sound credit decision making and contribute to sustainable business growth.
Key Accountabilities
- Support the growth and management of the offshore EIR portfolio through high-quality credit analysis, portfolio monitoring and risk management activities.
- Participate in deal teams for new and existing client opportunities, providing transaction support, financial analysis and credit assessment.
- Prepare credit submissions, including detailed financial modelling, forecasting, risk analysis and recommendations for approval.
- Support the progression of transactions and recommendations through Westpac's credit decision making framework, ensuring strong governance and timely execution.
- Conduct industry and company research to support client engagement, portfolio management and execution of the International EIR strategy.
- Build strong working relationships with Relationship Managers, Risk colleagues, analyst peers and clients, while maintaining high standards of credit quality, due diligence and exposure management.

What do I need?
- Degree qualification in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
- Experience in credit analysis within a wholesale, corporate or institutional banking environment.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to build effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders and clients.
- Knowledge of the corporate loan market, including lending structures, terms and distribution considerations.
- Understanding of sustainability and climate-related issues impacting the Energy, Infrastructure & Resources sectors.
- Strong cash flow modelling and financial analysis capabilities.
- Well-developed communication and influencing skills.
- Commercial acumen and the ability to apply a risk-based mindset.
- Demonstrated resilience, initiative and a willingness to learn.
