We are looking for a Manager, Market Operations to manage a team with functional responsibilities for Market Operations within the Commercial Division of the US Clean Energy Group. Job Description Summary: Responsible for managing the daily activities of the Market Operations team . The Market Operations team provides RTO services for the Company’s Clean Energy portfolio across multiple US markets . R esponsibilities include : E nergy and ancillary services strategy & execution M arket dispatch & scheduling E nergy management services M anaging contractual related obligations under asset PPAs P rovid ing market expertise to other functional groups within AES Main Responsibilities : AES Clean Energy Market Activities Oversee the completion of all required daily market submission s of AES Clean Energy including generation offers, demand bids, meter submittals and outage management . Coordinate test plans and capacity requirements with various stakeholders to mitigate market and settlement risk. Ensure CAISO resource adequacy obligations are met for planned outages. Monitor market conditions and collaborate with the real-time dispatchers and various commercial groups to ensure market risks are communicated and addressed. Manage new resource integration requirements across all ISOs including asset registration, access, bid-to-bill setup, SCADA modeling, and testing requirements are completed. Develop and implement new processes and procedures to support new and existing generation assets Provide knowledge and training to Market Operations personnel on new projects and procedures Collaborates with AES Commercial Operations group in the development of strategies aimed at increasing market presence and optimizing variable margi n . Provide monthly reporting to different stakeholders for tracking performance and settlements. Assist other commercial and operational group s in analyzing and evaluating operational performance . Provide support in submitting or responding to inquiries with different ISOs . Additional Responsibilities Provide real-time support across the entire group as needed to address daily operational and process issues . Provide information to AES management for annual budget needs and track departmental costs . Assist Supervisor in the evaluati on, hiring , and training of new personnel . Manage and lead weekly meetings with different stakeholders across the organization including IT/OT support, project SCADA & engineering, Back Office, third party vendors, and origination . Promote safety and compliance, foster growth and development, coach and mentor personnel . Stay apprised of industry, NERC, FERC, and RTO policy and protocol changes. Lead departmental response to internal and external compliance audits and reviews . Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Management , Finance, Economics, Engineering, or the sciences (or equivalent experience). Experience: 10+ years of energy market experience in wholesale electricity markets managing a portfolio of generation assets. ISO Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of CAISO, ERCOT, MISO, NYISO, PJM, and SPP markets. Asset Expertise: Working knowledge of solar, wind generation, and energy storage is preferred. Grid Expertise: Working k nowledge or experience in transmission operations is desirable. Technical Skills: Expert familiarity with common energy market SCADA systems, ETRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. Operations & Compliance: Prior direct experience working in real-time operations and performing market submittals, along with experience in NERC compliance and regulatory requirements. Leadership & Agility: Strong collaborative leadership, analytical aptitude, strategic thinking, composure under pressure, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
