This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek. This is a temporary position supporting the November General Election with an anticipated start date in October. Job Type Election Workers (Seasonal) Department Elections About the Position As a Temporary Ballot Tabulation Center (BTC) Inspector, you facilitate the election process by organizing and processing ballots, providing guidance, and performing data entry. Other Requirements Must be a registered voter or have the ability to become a registered voter in the State of Arizona by the time of hire Must be an Independent or Party Not Designated registered voter Must pass an applicable background screening Must be able to work overtime as necessary Must have legible penmanship We Also Value One or more years of general office experience One or more years of moderate computer use experience One or more years of election experience Bilingual in English and Spanish Job Contributions Assists Adjudication teams when they are unsure about a voter’s intent by providing guidance and clarification Stands throughout the assignment, moving between teams as necessary to provide guidance Maintains accurate and legible documentation of ballot processing Assists other divisions within Elections or the Recorder’s Office with daily operations and additional job duties as assigned Working Conditions Full-time/Temporary/Holidays/Overtime hours are mandatory during the election cycle Requires upper extremity repetitive motion, the ability to review small fonts on hard copy or computer screen, and the ability to stand for extended periods of time All operations will be conducted under Livestream cameras and in the presence of political observers Closed-toed shoes must be worn at all times Must not engage in any political discussion Requires the use of: Proprietary elections software Tabulation machine Scanners Microsoft Office products Selection Procedure Consideration will only be given to candidates who submit online applications Candidates will be contacted primarily through email and their Workday online application profile Must pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive Maricopa County is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants.
