About the role

The US Holding - Tax Manager is responsible for supporting tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities. This role ensures accurate tax filings and contributes to the organization’s tax strategy.

This job profile is intended for specialist professionals that apply advanced knowledge of a job area. Required to manage projects/processes independently with limited supervision. Typically coaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals.

Responsible for the tax matters of assigned legal entities, including federal, state and international tax compliance and accounting for income taxes (tax provisions). Also responsible for the transfer pricing documentation of assigned legal entities. This is a working manager position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing the overall tax reporting work of assigned legal entities and providing assistance in minimizing the tax costs of proposed transactions by identifying favorable methods of reporting the facts, and by formulating the necessary action plans.
  • Preparation and consolidation of U.S. federal, state and international income tax returns and accruals, working papers, and studies to ensure proper determination and reporting of corporate income tax in each jurisdiction.
  • Determine and control estimated income tax payments to maximize return on assets.
  • Preparation of responses to tax agency audit requests for information in a timely and accurate manner; research and defend positions taken on the company’s returns; recommend and prepare protests to disputed audit issues to ensure that additional tax assessments are minimized.
  • Monitor and analyze proposed and newly enacted U.S. federal, state and foreign tax legislation, regulations, and court cases to ensure that adequate procedures are in place to minimize and accurately report the company’s income taxes.
  • Assist in tax planning by preparing analyses of past and proposed transactions with the purpose of presenting alternatives and/or a recommendation for reducing tax expense.
  • Encourage management and other personnel of assigned legal entities to seek tax advice as necessary.
  • Cooperation with external and internal persons / bodies, including Outside tax authorities - Finance and controlling personnel for US and foreign legal entities - Outside tax consultants
  • Managerial Task: Indirect management of related company personnel in completion of tax information requests and advising on tax consequences of transactions.

Experience/Skills

  • Requires Bachelor’s degree or higher from a College or University (prefer Master’s in Taxation)
  • Current CPA, preferred
  • Experience with One Source Tax Provision and One Source Income Tax software, preferred
  • Previous work experience in public accounting, preferred
  • Minimum 7 years corporate income tax and compliance experience required
  • Prior project management, supervisor and training experience required
  • Must be a team player that is self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Must be organized with a high attention to detail
  • Must have good communication skills, assertive, confident and trustworthy
  • Must be able to work overtime when required
  • Spanish language skills preferable, but not required
