About The Role
Position Purpose
The HR Business Partner provides guidance and consultation on employee relations matters, workplace investigations, performance management, ADA accommodations, organizational effectiveness, and leadership development. HRBP collaborates closely with operational leaders, HR colleagues, and legal/compliance partners to foster a positive workplace culture, ensure consistent application of policies, mitigate risk, and support organizational objectives across the region.
Responsibilities & Tasks
- Conduct and manage complex employee relations investigations involving policy violations, workplace conflicts, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and other employment-related concerns.
- Interview employees, leaders, and witnesses; review documentation; analyze facts; and prepare investigation findings and recommendations.
- Partner with legal, compliance, and HR leadership as appropriate on sensitive matters.
- Provide recommendations regarding corrective and disciplinary actions based on investigation outcomes and policy requirements.
- Make recommendations to ensure consistent application of employment policies and practices while minimizing risk to the organization.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and coaching to HR partners, managers, and leaders on employee relations and performance management matters.
- Assist HR and Leaders in addressing performance concerns through effective coaching, documentation, and corrective action processes.
- Support leadership development by promoting best practices in employee engagement, conflict resolution, and team effectiveness.
- Partner with HR, Home Office and Hospital leadership to provide guidance on complex employee accommodation and leave matters, including ADA, workers' compensation, and religious accommodation requests; facilitate the interactive process, assess compliance and risk considerations, and partner with leaders and HR stakeholders to support effective workplace solutions and return-to-work outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws related to disability and workplace accommodations.
- Provide support in conducting focus groups and listening sessions to identify employee concerns, engagement opportunities, and workplace improvement initiatives.
- Analyze feedback and recommend actions to improve employee experience and organizational culture.
- Support employee engagement and retention initiatives throughout the assigned region.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to investigations, accommodations, and disciplinary actions.
- Identify employee relations risks and proactively recommend appropriate solutions.
- This position must sit at our Home Office based in Birmingham, Alabama
License or Certification
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field required. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- At least 3 years of experience in employee relations, investigations, and leadership coaching.
- Healthcare industry experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting multi-site or regional operations preferred.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including ADA, FMLA, Title VII, and related compliance requirements.
