Tessera is seeking a Skilled and professional Grounds Maintenance Worker with a positive attitude.

Typical duties include but are not limited to

  • Maintain and repair the grounds up to and around the facilities.
  • Perform mowing, trimming, edging, weed and brush control.
  • Pick up and remove all rubbish, debris, and trash (which includes, but is not limited to; rocks, paper, pinecones , limbs, and other portable objects) within the maintenance area and all trash, papers and limbs lodged in shrubs, hedges, fences, and along foundation walls.
  • Load large wheel barrels with debris.
  • Perform basic maintenance of grounds equipment.
  • May operate a tractor and/or mower, weed eaters, chain saws, pressure washer and brush cutters.
  • Demonstrate ability to multi-task throughout workday, with constant interruptions; Utilize company cell phones. Respond to phone calls promptly.
  • Remove snow from walkways, driveways, roads, or parking lots using shovel and snow blower , spreads salt on walkways and other areas.

Qualifications

  • 6 months experience in ground maintenance or prior laborer experience is preferred.
  • Work both independently and in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Read and understand contract requirements and maps.

Physical Requirements

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance . The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis .

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required .
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
