About The Role

  • Performs a variety of general, mechanical and preventive maintenance as well as inspections, servicing and overhaul of equipment and facilities.
  • Responsible for assisting in the departmental plan for the operation, maintenance and repair of all the facility’s mechanical, electrical and plumbing
  • systems. Assists in the maintenance and report of the facility’s buildings and grounds.
  • Assures maximum climate control of heating, air conditioning and humidity and maintains all other miscellaneous heating and cooling equipment.
  • Inspects and assists with repairs to power plant/boiler equipment for proper operation.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and unscheduled maintenance of related systems.
  • Assists in the calibration control, performs air balancing, and adjusts repairs thermostats, valves, compressors, pumps, associated chilled water, and condensing unit system.
  • Maintains and assists with repairs to boilers and associated domestic/heating systems.
  • Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned
  • Special Skills:
  • Ability to read in English to follow oral and/or written instructions. Ability to obtain knowledge of boiler systems, water treatment, code restrictions, HVAC equipment and auxiliaries, i.e., pumps, valves, controls and computer systems. Ability to learn plumbing, painting, carpentry, maintenance and the tools and materials used in the preventive maintenance of the facility. Knowledge of building controls.
  • Minimum Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Preferred Requirements
  • Certifications: Boiler Operator Training required or must obtain within 90 days.
