About the Photo Studio Set Building Team
The Williams Sonoma Set Building Team creates photo studio scenery to support the creative needs of Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids and Teen, Mark and Graham, and Green Row.
Overview of the Set Crew Coordinator Overhire
The Set Crew Overhire is a casual temporary role that supports the Set Building Team to meet production requirements while maintaining a safe, positive work environment. Overhires will be called in to work daily - weekly assignments on an as needed basis. This is an hourly position and must be able to work overtime, evenings, and occasionally on weekends. Tasks include but not limited to: striking and installation of sets, basic set construction, and basic surface preparation and painting.
Responsibilities
- Strike and install photo sets in a safe, efficient manner to meet production deadlines and the daily needs of photo studio scenery changes
- Assist with organizing set component warehouse
- Assist with the construction of set elements out of wood, tile, and other materials
- Assist scenic painter with prepping scenery for paint treatments
- Uphold all shop safety requirements, shop maintenance procedures, and production processes
- Collaborate with Set Building team members, photo studios, and operations teams investigate challenges and troubleshoot solutions
- Other duties as assigned
Criteria
- A minimum of one year experience in carpentry, fabrication, or related experience
- Experience with operating stationary woodworking machinery and handheld wood working tools
- Working knowledge of set building materials
- Working knowledge of safe woodshop and warehouse operation and procedures
- Ability to collaborate with a team or think critically on solo projects
- Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing tasks and priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to maintain a professional environment
- Ability to wear proper PPE, including safety glasses, ear protection, and respirators for multiple hours a day
- Ability to move and/or lift up to 50 lbs; heavier structures with team assist
- Operate a computer and communicate via telephone
- Consistent, punctual attendance for scheduled shifts. Weekly evening availability and occasional weekend availability.

The expected starting pay range for this position is $29.20-$33.58/hr. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
