About the Role

In your new role as Maintenance Officer, you will support the day-to-day operation and upkeep of the hotel’s facilities and equipment. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will enjoy working as part of a small team on a rotating roster. This hands-on role requires someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes pride in their work, and can confidently manage a variety of maintenance tasks in a fast-paced hotel environment. Your duties will include:

  • Painting, wall patching, and minor carpentry works across guest rooms and public areas
  • Carrying out preventative maintenance and general repairs throughout the hotel
  • Responding to plumbing issues including leaks, blocked drains, toilet repairs, pipe maintenance, and silicone sealing
  • Supporting the maintenance and fault finding of HVAC and BMS systems to optimise performance and energy efficiency
  • Assisting with maintenance and troubleshooting of motors, pumps, lifts, and commercial kitchen equipment
  • Diagnosing and resolving minor electrical faults across lighting, guest room systems, HVAC controls, and hotel infrastructure
  • Supporting the safe operation of fire safety systems, lighting, elevators, and other essential building services
  • Ensuring the hotel is presented and maintained to the highest standard at all times

To successfully fill this role, you should have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a commitment to delivering excellent service. In addition, the minimum skills you will need include;

  • Previous maintenance experience including plumbing, painting, and general repairs
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
  • A proactive and dependable approach to work
  • Ability to work a minimum of one weekend day per week and occasional public holidays.
