You have a hands-on opportunity to develop your skills, work alongside experienced chefs, and contribute to the success of our kitchen. As an Apprentice, you’re not just supporting the culinary team to ensure smooth kitchen operations – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.

Here’s what you’ll do during a typical day

  • Prepare kitchen equipment: Set up, clean, organize, and stage equipment, including hot boxes, Chef Garde Manager stations, speed racks, and Queen Marys
  • Develop basic culinary techniques: Knife skills, cooking methods, etc.
  • Support inventory management: Assist with receiving deliveries and properly storing/organizing stock
  • Assist with food service: Help with plating, dish-ups, and transporting prepared items
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness: Perform essential cleaning tasks, including mopping and trash removal
  • Comply with regulatory standards: Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations, ensuring the highest standards of guest and team member well-being

In addition, this role requires the following minimum qualifications

  • Technical education in hospitality or culinary school preferred
  • Strong passion for cooking and food preparation
  • Willingness to learn basic kitchen techniques and procedures
  • Works well with others in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Comfortable with changing tasks and schedules
