Diet Technician

  • Wage: $13.30/hour
  • Full-time and part-time positions available
  • Day/Evening/Night shifts available
  • Background check, drug screen, and proof of employment eligibility required
  • Location: Stonewall Memorial Hospital

We’re looking for friendly, compassionate team players to join our culinary team!

Support a registered dietitian to ensure patients receive excellent nutritional care. Perform nutritional screenings and assessments, manage diet preferences and meal plans, and maintain patient care plans. Provide excellent customer service to ensure every patient receives quality care.

Responsibilities

  • Complete nutritional assessments for patients to create care plans with nutritional goals
  • Document assessment of patients with nutritional goals and interventions in the medical record
  • Provide oversight for patient services and production staff and monitor meal service
  • Ensure patient preferences are recorded on meal tickets and that all meals and snacks adhere to the resident’s needs
  • Adhere to the facility’s health and safety policies and procedures
  • Assist team members and management as needed to help the department operate efficiently

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food and Nutrition or an accredited diet technician program
  • Must be a Registered Dietetic Tech (RDT) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and/or a licensed dietitian (LD) or dietitian tech (LDT)
  • Must practice good personal hygiene and be neatly groomed in a uniform
  • Communicate effectively in English and work well in a team environment
  • Preferred: Culinary experience (cook, commercial kitchen, fast food, hotel operations, healthcare)

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged standing and walking continuously, frequent stooping, and bending and lifting up to 40 pounds
  • Must be able to operate equipment necessary to perform essential functions of the job
